Edwin has been accelerating AES' strategy for a greener energy future since 2004. Bringing his experience as a successful lawyer specializing in international negotiations, he began his career at AES Dominicana in 2004 as Vice President Legal and subsequently joined a diverse group of Boards of Directors within AES. He now helps execute AES' mission in the Dominican Republic as President of AES Dominicana and of the AES Dominicana Foundation, responsible for the company's Corporate Social Responsibility program.

Prior to joining AES, Edwin had a distinguished practice in business law and worked for the Dominican Government as National Coordinator of the Free Trade Area of the Americas and as a member of the negotiation team for several free trade agreements.

Edwin holds a law degree, several master's degrees in Business and International Trade and a master's degree in Music from Berklee College of Music. He also holds an MBA from New York University.

Edwin's commitments to the country go beyond his duties at AES. He is President of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAMDR), member of the Dominican Electrical Industry Association (ADIE) and past president of the Dominican Association of Foreign Investment Companies (ASIEX).
