Edy's experience and track record in commercial operations, structured origination, trading, and stakeholder management are evident in his 13+ years at AES. His strategic capabilities have allowed the optimization and growth of AES's portfolio in Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.

An electrical engineer who graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) and a passionate professional about all energy-related topics. His journey within AES, working with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams internationally, has shaped his leadership, always aiming to accelerate the energy transition to a more sustainable future.

Edy holds a master's degree in electrical engineering and project management from the University of Puerto Rico (UPRM) and the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO), respectively. His drive for learning and having new experiences has led him to obtain various certifications from Columbia Business School, Lloyd's Maritime Academy, IMD, and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Aiming to support younger generations, he has taught several undergraduate and postgraduate courses in electrical engineering at several academic institutions.

In recognition of his contributions and professional trajectory in the energy sector, he was designated as a Senior Member by the IEEE, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, in 2022.
